Healthy Chickpea fry (Garbanzo fry)

Chickpea fry is healthy snack and moreover the texture is sooo crunchy and tasty.Instead of store brought deep fried chickpea fry this recipe is more healthy as we are using only 2 tbsp oil.Adding more oil makes it soggy and to make it more crispy after baking for about 45 mins turn off the stove and leave the chickpea inside oven for about 1 hr.

Ingredients
  1. Chickpea/garbanzo beans-1 cup
  2. Chili powder-2 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder-1 tsp
  4. Oil-2 tbsp
  5. Coriander powder-2 tsp
  6. Garam masala-1 tsp
  7. Black salt-1 tsp
Instructions
  1. Soak chickpea (garbanzo beans) overnight.The next day pressure cook for about 2 whistles.Dry the chickpea with kitchen towl or in sunlight.
  2. Preheat oven to 430 F.Cover the baking pan with aluminium foil and add the dry chickpea,chili powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,garam masala,black salt.Mix all the spices to the chickpeas and drizzle oil all over it.
  3. Place the baking pan in oven and bake for about 40-45 mins until it is brown and crunchy.To make it more crunchy turn off the oven and leave the chickpea in oven for about 1 hr.
  4. Once it cools down consume this healthy snack and store it in airtight container !
Notes
  1. Adding more oil makes it soggy and make sure to bake dry chickpea.
  2. Do not over bake or else chickpea may get burnt.
  3. Instead of black salt you can use normal salt too.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve this oven roasted chickpea in salad for extra punch add lemon juice all over it.
  • You can also use this chickpea fry in pani puri.

Note:
