Hash browns (crispy)

Hash browns are always mouthwatering…Usually in the restaurant hash browns wont be that spicy since they add only pepper and salt but i liked the crispness . So customized this dish by adding chilli powder and turmeric which enhanced the flavor.I started eating hash browns instead of potato chips as it had the same taste,moreover avoiding  regular intake of deep fried item is good for the health.You can also check out sweet potato cutlet , Hummus ,No deep fry french fries


  • Potato – 1
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper -1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder –1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Hash browns Recipe:

  • Wash and peel off the skin from potato and then grate it

  • Remove the moisture from it using tissue

  • Add salt,chilli ,turmeric and pepper to grated potato and mix it well so that spice mixture blends evenly.

  • Heat pan by spraying oil all over and once hot add grated potato in the form of circle. Grated potato sticks together during cooking .Cook it for 10 mins and once it gets roasted flip it over and add oil to the sides

  • Cook for another 10 mins.Switch of stove and is ready to eat with your favorite sauce 😀


Serving Suggestions:

Serve with dip or ketchup


  • Add oil to the sides of the hash browns which makes crispy at the end
  • Cook in medium flame,slow cooking enhances the taste
