Green Moong dal | Mung Bean recipe

Green Moong dal is very healthy recipe which is prepared with garlic and Indian spices to give wonderful taste to dal. This Green Moong dal recipe goes well with dry roti or rice.Usually I have one bowl of this Green Moong dal recipe for lunch topped with lemon juice as it really helps to burn fat!!! and cucumber noodle salad or Oats Salad for my dinner for a week which really helped me to loose weight for about 3 kgs in 5 days..And i am not nutritionist or dietitian just by practical experience on my body wanted to share this with you all 🙂 🙂 Will post a separate page on my blog on weight loss recipes soon..Do check out my other weight loss recipes Oats upma ,Oats Soup with Chickpeas , Banana Oats Cookie , Overnight choco oats , Ragi Idly !!

Green Moong dal

Serves : 4 Total min : 20 Min

Ingredients:

  • Moong dal- 2 cups
  • Chopped Garlic-2 tsp
  • Onion-1
  • Tomato-1
  • Turmeric powder-1 tsp
  • Chili powder-2 and 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder-2 and 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala-1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice-1 tbsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Coriander leaf- for garnish

Detailed Recipe with Pictures:

  • Soak Moong dal overnight for more soft texture or else you need not soak and cook directly without soaking.But I always prefer soaking which gives mashy texture after cooking.
  • Add the green moong dal and water in pressure cooker and cook till 2 whistles.

  • Heat pan with 1 tsp oil and then add chopped garlic,onion,tomato and turmeric powder.Saute for about 2-3 mins till tomato becomes mushy.

  • Add chili powder,corainder,garam masala powder and saute for a min then add to the green moong dal. Add required amount of water if you want dal to be watery.Cook with lid on for about 8-10 mins.

Note:
