Low fat paneer masala (Instant)

Low fat paneer recipes are for weight watchers like me 😉 … I love paneer so its difficult to avoid eating it, i have seen mom from my childhood preparing paneer from whole fat milk and she used to prepare my favorite paneer masala where she used to include butter and along with that whole fat paneer just think about the yummy taste 😀 😀 …Missing my mum’s dishes 🙁 🙁 … Eating this high fat content dish is not that good on regular basis and moreover will surely make me to put on weight so thought to try making paneer with fat free milk.Followed the usual method by boiling the milk and once boiled added lemon juice to get the paneer getting separated from the green water that is whey.Drained the paneer using colander and  the outcome of paneer was crumbled form and then covered the with muslin cloth.To make firm shape added weight on top of it the usual method 😉 .I just could not believe about the outcome of No Fat Panner ..texture was somewhat similar to whole fat paneer and i wanted to get it hard like store brought ones  :p :p so refrigerated for 30 mins. I was really happy to see the outcome 😉 😉 it had good texture 🙂 .For detailed steps check out this link on how to prepare fat free paneer. Ingredients
  1. Paneer- 1 Cup
  2. Onion-1
  3. Tomato-1
  4. Green chilli-2
  5. Ginger -2 tsp chopped
  6. Garlic-2 tsp chopped
  7. Oil-1 tsp
  8. Chili powder-2 tsp
  9. turmeric powder-1 tsp
  10. Coriander powder-2 tsp
  11. Garam masala-1 tsp
  12. Cumin powder-1 tsp
  13. Low fat curd-2 tbsp (optional)
  14. Water -1/4 cup
Instructions
  1. Chop the low fat paneer into small cubes.You can also check out on how to prepare fat free paneer which is mentioned in detailed recipe below.
  2. Grind chopped onion,tomato,ginger,garlic and keep it aside.
  3. Heat pan with 1 tsp of oil and add the grinded paste,green chili & turmeric powder .Cook for about 5-7 mins until the raw flavor disappears with lid on.
  4. Add red chili powder,cumin powder,garam masala,coriander powder,water,salt and give it stir.
  5. Add curd and cook for about 5 mins and then add paneer and let it sit for another 2 mins .Healthy paneer masala is ready to crave!
Notes
  1. You can avoid adding curd but i like it personally.
  2. Add capsicum or peas to make it more flavorful.
  3. You can also use low fat paneer or fat free paneer for this recipe.
  4. Serve Low fat paneer masala with dry roti or with rice
