Broken Wheat Biryani tempts people to eat rather than Broken wheat upma 😉 . If you are not good with taste of broken wheat for the first time then you can consume this by making with your favorite ingredients such as Broken Wheat Biryani using egg or chicken or mutton and for vegetarians with mushrooms, paneer or any other favorite vegges so that it tempts you to eat ;).Broken Wheat is excellent source of fiber which is low fat diet and contains no cholesterol.You can include this on diet every day instead of rice which will help you to lower the risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol. Broken wheat is cooked similar as rice with water 1 :2 ratio.
- Egg- 3
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Cardamom- 1
- Broken Wheat-1/2 cup
- Ginger garlic paste– 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder-2 tsp
- Coriander powder– 2 tsp
- Garam masala -1 tsp
- Cumin seeds -2 tsp
- Fenneel seeds-1 tsp
- Bay leaf-1
- Curd- 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon-2 sticks
- Salt- as required
- Water-1 cup
- Turmeric powder-pinch
- Mint/pudina & coriander leaf– few
Broken Wheat Biryani Recipe:
- You can check this link on how to cook broken wheat.Cook the cracked wheat and Spread it on flat plate and let it cool.
- Heat wok/kadai with oil,once hot add Cardamom,cloves,cinnamon,bay leaf ,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,onion,salt.Once onion gets cooked well add ginger garlic paste
- After the raw flavor disappears add turmeric ,tomato and then close the lid for 2 mins so that tomato becomes mashy.
- Add mint,coriander leaf and then saute for 10 secs.Add chilli ,coriander,garam masala powder,curd and then egg.Saute well till egg gets cooked.
- Mix the broken wheat to the egg masala well and switch off the stove.Garnish with coriander leaf.
