Spinach pulao |Palak pulao

Spinach pulao  is perfect for kids lunch box as spinach has various health benefits. It tastes perfectly awesome with  raita or chicken gravy.This is simple healthy one pot meal recipe with mild spices and adding peas to pulao makes it more tastier and healthy.

Ingredients
  1. Spinach – 1 cup
  2. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  3. Oil – 1 tbsp
  4. Cinnamon-2
  5. Bay leaf- 1
  6. Salt – as required
  7. Green chilli – 2-3
  8. Cumin – 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala – 1 tsp (optional)
  10. Onion – 1
  11. Potato – 1
  12. Boiled chick peas – as required
  13. Basmati rice- 1 cup
  14. Water – 2 cup
To Grind
  1. Spinach- 1 cup
  2. Green chilli – 2-3
Instructions
  1. Soak chick peas overnight and for rice soak about 30 mins.
  2. Saute spinach and green chilli in pan. After it cools grind to fine paste by adding little water.
  3. Heat pan with oil and once hot add cumin ,cinnamon,bay leaf and onion
  4. Add salt and once onion gets cooked add ginger garlic paste.After raw flavor of ginger garlic disappears add potato and soaked chick peas ,grinded spinach
  5. Add garam masala for extra flavor (you can avoid this step if u don’t like it)
  6. Add water and add rice then pressure cook for 2 whistle
  7. Serve with raita or any kind of gravy.
