Tomato Biryani | Thakkali Biryani

Tomato Biryani is one pot meal recipe which is prepared with whole garam masla,basmati rice,ginger garlic paste and spice powder.




It tastes soo yummy with Onion Raita  Muttai Varuval Potato fry Chicken leg fry.

Ingredients
  1. Tomato-6
  2. Onion-1
  3. Basmati rice-1 Cup
  4. Water-1 and 3/4 Cup
  5. Garam Masala-1 tsp
  6. Chili powder-2 and 1/2 tsp
  7. Ginger garlic paste-2 tsp
  8. Clove-3
  9. Star anise-2
  10. Cinnamon sticks-3
  11. Bay leaf-2
  12. Cumin/Jeera -1 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder- pinch
  14. Salt-to taste
  15. Oil- 5 tsp
  16. Mint & Coriander leaf-1/4 cup
Instructions
  1. Wash and Soak Basmati rice for about 15 mins.
  2. Heat deep pan with oil and once hot add clove,star anise,cinnamon sticks,bay leaf,cumin seeds,onion and salt.Saute for a min until onion gets cooked well.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw flavor disappears.Then add tomato and cook with lid on for about 5 mins until mushy.
  4. Add turmeric powder,chili powder,garam masala and saute for about a min.Add water,mint,coriander leaf and let it boil.
  5. Once it boils add rice and cook with lid on for about 15-20 mins until rice is cooked well.
