Peanut chutney is traditional South Indian Vegan side dish for dosa or idly or adai even it goes well roti 




Peanut chutney is quick zero oil recipe which is prepared by dry roasting peanut and grinding with tamarind,garlic,salt,water,red chili.You can also roast garlic ,red chili along with peanut but i love using raw garlic and red chili which gives more flavor to chutney .It just takes 10 mins to prepare this yummy and tasty chutney.You can also check out mint coriander chutney , onion chutney , idly podi

Ingredients
  1. Peanut-1/2 cup
  2. Red chili powder-2 tsp or Red chili-3 (adjust based on spice level)
  3. Tamarind-1 inch
  4. Salt- to taste
  5. Garlic cloves-4 chopped
  6. Water-1/2 cup +2 tbsp (adjust water level till grinding peanut into fine paste)
Instructions
  1. Dry roast peanut in pan for about 4-5 mins until color changes to slight brown in color .Switch off the stove and cool it.
  2. Grind roasted peanut,tamarind,red chili powder,salt,garlic cloves,water into fine paste.
  3. Serve it with dosa or idly or adai or Indian flat bread/chapati.You can also serve as dip with raw carrots,celery
Notes
  1. If you want you can temper this with 2 tsp oil,1 tsp mustard seeds,1 tsp urad dal,4-5 curry leaf.This chutney tastes good even without tempering 😉
  2. I grinded raw garlic and red chili with roasted peanut which i like it but if you dont want it raw then dry roast peanut,garlic and red chili together
