Capsicum Gravy

Capsicum Gravy is thick vegetarian side dish which is prepared with capsicum,spice mixture and coconut paste to give delicious flavor and goes very well with roti or jeera rice or even with any pulao. This gravy would be loved by people who love capsicum and I love a lot with jeera rice πŸ˜€

Ingredients
  1. Capsicum-6
  2. Jeera/cumin seeds-2 tsp
  3. Bay leaf-1
  4. Cinnamon sticks-2
  5. Onion- 1/2
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Ginger garlic paste-2 tsp
  8. Chili powder-2 tsp
  9. Coriander powder- 2 tsp
  10. Garam masala-1 tsp
  11. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  12. Oil-1 tbsp
To Grind Coconut paste
  1. Coconut-1/3 cup
  2. Fennel Seeds-2 tsp
  3. Pepper powder-1 tsp
  4. Water- required for grinding
To Grind Onion tomato paste
  1. Onion-1
  2. Tomato-1
Instructions
  1. Grind tomato and onion in mixie to fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in pan and once hot add Cumin seeds ,bay leaf,cinnamon sticks,onion & salt.Saute till onion gets cooked well.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for about 2 -3 mins .Then add the onion tomato paste,cook till raw flavor disappears.
  4. Meanwhile grind fennel seeds,coconut,pepper powder,water to grind into fine paste.
  5. Add chopped Capsicum and cook with lid on for about 6-7 mins.Then add the coconut paste and water if required based on thickness of gravy.Cook with lid on for about 10 mins.
Notes
  1. Serve Capsicum Gravy with chapati/roti/indian flat bread or jeera rice/ Pulao
