Strawberry jam without pectin

Strawberry jam is very easy  and simple recipe made with three ingredients as strawberry,sugar,lemon juice and no artificial preservatives.Once cooled store in sterilized bottle with no moisture content in it and then refrigerate where shelf life of this homemade Strawberry jam would be a month and once all the jam gets over then you can prepare the next fresh batch :).

Strawberry jam

Ingredients:

  • Strawberry – 500 gm/16 oz
  • Sugar-1/2 cup
  • lemon juice-1 tbsp




Strawberry jam recipe:

  • Wash and rinse the strawberry well.Then cut the upper part of the strawberry and discard it.Now cut the strawberry into small pieces and grind into puree.If you like strawberry chunks in jam then don’t grind it.

  • Heat deep pan and add strawberry puree ,sugar and lemon juice.we are adding lemon juice to void crystallization of sugar.Cook with the lid on until it boils.

  • Open the lid and saute frequently for about 20-25 mins.To check the consistency of the jam after 20-25 mins just scoop little jam on the plate and after a min try to tilt the plate,Strawberry jam should not slide but should stick to the plate then that is perfect time to switch off the stove.

  • Let it cool and once cooled pour to the sterilized glass bottle( Boil the glass bottle in water and dry it in sun or oven until it absorbs all the moisture).Make sure the storage glass bottle is dry and then pour the Strawberry jam.Shelf life for this jam would be a month in refrigerator.

  • Spread it with bread or roti or use as topping for ice cream 😉
